While oral development slows down as kids enter their teen years, the face and jaw are still growing. During this time, we still have the chance to guide the development of their teeth and jaw.
Leone & Vaughn Orthodontics offers personalized treatment plans with either braces or Invisalign to address the unique needs of each of our teenage patients. We do this either as stand-alone treatment or as a follow up to Phase 1 orthodontics.

Phase 2 Orthodontics for Teens
Ages 13 - 18
Phase 1 early orthodontic intervention is a foundational step in building a better smile. That said, if your child missed out, they can still benefit from Phase 2 in their teen years once all of their adult teeth have come in.
Under 12 years of age, potential problems can be monitored, and targeted treatments such as palatal expanders, braces, or Invisalign First can be provided to address specific issues and minimize the need for more invasive treatments in the teen years.
However, real changes to the appearance of the smile starts once all the adult teeth are in. The goal of Phase 2 treatment is to guide these permanent teeth into their proper positions for the best look possible with optimal bite function.
For our teenage patients, we offer treatment with braces or Invisalign clear aligners to straighten teeth and correct bite misalignments.
